COVID-19 Ministry Response Update - April 3, 2020

Dear Church Family,

The suspension of all corporate services at Calvary Baptist Church and activities of more than 10 people will continue until further notice. We continue to monitor the situation regularly by staying aware of recommendations from the Center for Disease Control, the President’s office, and the Governor of Colorado.

The church continues even though we cannot gather together weekly. I want to encourage you to minister to one another through email, texts, and other creative ways during this time.

Although we should demonstrate caution in our response to this virus, let me encourage you to think of ways that you can pursue new opportunities to reach neighbors, friends, and family with the gospel of Christ. God can use our profound confidence in Him and the gospel to impact others at this time. I am reminded of Psalm 34:4–5. It says, "I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.‭ ” In this passage, the psalmist echoes Moses’ encounter with God. The writer’s point is that it bercomes obvious when one is trusting in the Creator God. This sort of person is radiant and will never be ashamed. May God give you grace to demonstrate clearly to others that you trust in the true and living God!

Please also be in prayer for Nellie Nelson as she recovers from surgery to repair a break in her leg. It seems she's developed pneumonia as an added challenge to her recovery. Pray also for her family as they manage Lee's care during her absence.

Love in Christ,

Pastor McDonald

Thank you for visiting Calvary Baptist Church on the web. At Calvary Baptist Church, we believe that God's Word provides the only solid foundation on which to build our lives. We believe that God has a purpose for every life - to bring glory to Himself. That is why we make no apology for teaching and preaching the Bible.

Hundreds of families here at Calvary have discovered the joy of being a part of a friendly, Bible-believing church that works hard to meet the needs of every age group.

Our heart-felt prayer is for you to know Christ and be involved in a church home that cares for you.

Be a Five-Star Christian:

A great church is made up of strong Christians and strong Christian families.

Read God's Word

The Bible says, "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God." Reading the Bible is vital to the Christian life. As we read the Bible, we should search the Scriptures, comparing Scripture with Scripture. Also, set a goal to memorize Scripture and meditate on the Word of God. In our personal lives and with our families each day, we need to be reading the Word of God.

Pray

We believe that God hears and answers prayer. There is no doubt about it, the greatest untapped resource in the Christian life is the matter of prayer. Pray each day. Pray for loved ones. Pray for church leaders and their families. Pray for your church. Pray for our nation. Pray for the lost. Establish a prayer list. Pray.

Attend Church Faithfully

The Lord Jesus Christ deserves your faithfulness. Attend every service of the church. A great deal of the strength of the church is based on the faithfulness of the people. Support special meetings at the church with your faithful attendance.

Give

God's work is to be supported God's way. The Bible teaches that we should pay the tithe and give our offerings. Practice tithing as a conviction. Bring the Lord's tithe with you to church each Sunday. Support the ministries of the church with offerings. By faith give to worldwide missions. Support the Christian education endeavors of the church. We cannot outgive God.

Witness to the Lost

Our Lord Jesus Christ came to seek and to save that which was lost. He left us on earth to tell others about the Savior. Determine to bring others to the Savior. Work to bring other families to Christ and to the church. Set a time to go. Make a list of names and addresses of people you want to reach for Christ.

Determine to Be a Five-Star Christian

This is a time when you can be a real help and encouragement to your pastor. May God help you to work together to see something beyond the ordinary accomplished for Christ through your church.
